With wide, level, gravel trails and abundant natural scenery, it’s no wonder this trail is so popular. It’s quite possibly Atlanta’s favorite place to run, and the trail quickly fills up on fair-weather weekends. The 5k loop at Cochran Shoals follows the banks of the Chattahoochee River and explores scenic marshlands and meadows. As you pass through the village and the waterfall, you enter heavily treed and tranquil settings of lush forest. The village setting is complemented by authentic, old-world housing and a grist mill that uses the creek’s flowing waters to turn its water wheel. The public trails start within the heart of the LIFE campus adjacent to the 19th Century Village. Life University has 3.1 miles of walking and running trails that twist and turn through the beautiful campus woods and along Rottenwood Creek. ![]() Lupo Rugby Field is a state-of-the-art turf facility that offers an outside space for programming and special events. This natural grass field offers an open, outdoor space for programming and special events. The Upper Field is the primary outdoor facility for Campus Recreation and Wellness. It offers another space for our programming and events. The Upper Gym is primarily used for smaller sport and league programming. Students can participate in both open gym and intramurals leagues. The Eagle’s Nest is home to various recreation programming. Patrons can find cardio equipment, free weights, and cable weights for personal use as well as group fitness classes. The Wellness Center offers a space for the LIFE Community to engage in physical activity.
