![]() That doesn't stop 8 groups from subbing Naruto and Bleach at once, but for slightly less bizarrely popular shows, if its licensed it tends not to sub. Most reputable subbers tend not to sub series that are already licensed: for legal reasons (the licensor is far more likely to send a DMCA notice) and since its somewhat redundant work. Fansubs skirt the edge of legitimacy at the moment, and have suffered more as of late from their barely legal enterprises. Now, it's hard to compete with a free product. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention cost right off the bat. This is not a scientific study, but its certainly worth looking at, and perhaps with get some discussion and contemplation going up in this piece. The question is bandied around a lot, and I figured I would try and compile a list as to why exactly anime fans, both hardcore and less so, tend to prefer fansubs. A person might leave, but I'm not gonna go all "Roomies" all of a sudden That said, and I should never say never, I wouldn't expect me to shake things up by killing off someone. None of that, even if its presumptuous to say, should be down played simply to return to status quo. Jason likes a girl but would go back to his ex if she let him. Zack has dreams that his workplace isn't meeting. Joe is a dick and I want him to be treated like it. I want more than anything for there to be consequences in that universe for people's actions. One thing I'm going to say is this: I don't plan to hold any bars as TC goes forward. I suppose part of it is people see themselves in it and are like "haha that's me I tells it like it is" I think it odd how so many lovable jerks have survived and thrived in media. And not, for the most part, in the "haha oh JOE" way you get with say Ethan in CAD. ![]() Sure, he's a 'gamer', but mostly he's a dick. He retains some traits, but I want to try something new with him. Now, for whatever reason the original Joe also had super powers so in some ways that fleshed him out, but mainly he hinged on being a person they could live with, and he was the 'gamer guy'. ![]() Jason was nice, Joe was nice, and Zack was nice. The original Joe posed something of a problem- he was nice too. Joe is probably the most significant change. More happy, more in need of affection, trying to go out with Reb. He has similar aspiration, and I suppose the biggest change is that he's drier most of the time, but has a silly side that pops up here and there. Zack, for instance, is much the same as his original incarnation. When I decided I wanted to start a comic that wasn't totally unlike my first one I ended up cribbing a lot of the concepts from the original Random Bored into Toot Comic. *** as a warning, as if anyone cares, some of this might constitute 'spoilers' ***
